Adverbials can be filled by many different word classes and come in many different forms; the most compared to other sentence elements. Moreover, adverbials can also convey a huge number of meanings. Hence, with this great complexity, research of adverbials needs to carry out, with analysing the forms and the meanings of adverbial clause as the aims of this research. The data source of this research comes from the official website of a video game “League of Legends”. The data collection was done in several actions; opening the data source, reading (the characters’ story), note-taking, and identifying the sentences that consist of adverbial clauses. Furthermore, the collected data were analysed descriptively by using Quirk’s theory of adverbials. The result of the research showed that three forms of adverbial clauses and seven meanings of adverbial clauses were found in “League of Legends” Website. The three forms of adverbial clauses found were finite clauses, non-finite clauses, and verbless clauses. The seven meanings of adverbial clauses found were clauses of time, clauses of place, clauses of condition, clauses of concession, clauses of reason or cause, clauses of purpose, and clauses of result.
2024-07-12T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Kulturistik: Jurnal Ilmu Bahasa dan Budayahttps://www.ejournal.warmadewa.ac.id/index.php/kulturistik/article/view/9402PERTEMPURAN TANAH ARON2024-07-14T07:52:06+07:00Ida Bagus Astika Pidadaidabagusastikapidada1960@gmail.com
The research aims to uncover the Battle of Tanah Aron and the efforts made in that battle. The news only became known after Mr. I Gusti Ketut Puja as the representative of Sunda Kecil in PPKI returned to Jakarta. NICA (the Netherlands) wanted to regain control of Bali. People resistance arose under the leadership of I Gusti Ngurah Rai. To increase people's enthusiasm for facing NICA and divert their attention, I Gusti Ngurah Rai decided on July 28 1946 to hold a "June-July Journey". The trip aims to make it easier for aid from Java to enter Bali. The journey starts from Bengkel Anyar Village by climbing Mount Batukaru towards Buleleng and continuing east towards Mount Agung. Throughout the journey, the main troops led by I Gusti Ngurah Rai continued to experience fighting. The peak occurred in the Tanah Aron area on July 7 1946, when 82 NICA soldiers were killed. As a result of its defeat, NICA launched an onslaught. For this reason, the main troops were ordered to retreat by climbing Mount Agung. On July 23 1946 in Munduk Pengorengan a meeting of the MBO leadership was held. The results of the meeting decided that the troops would return to repair their respective areas.
2024-07-13T20:55:25+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Kulturistik: Jurnal Ilmu Bahasa dan Budayahttps://www.ejournal.warmadewa.ac.id/index.php/kulturistik/article/view/10010TOKOH SRI SUMARAH KARYA UMAR KAYAM SUATU KAJIAN BUDAYA JAWA2024-07-14T07:48:11+07:00Ni Ketut Sukianiketutsukiani@gmail.comGusti Ayu Made Rai Suarnitiraisuarniti78@gmail.comNi Made Suwendrisuwendri63@gmail.comIda Bagus Astika Pidadaastikapidada@gmail.com
This research analyzes the character Sri Sumarah by Umar Kayam (A Study of Javanese Culture). Through the characters in Sri Sumarah, this research aims to describe and discover aspects of Javanese cultural values, especially in wayang characters. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with analytical descriptive analysis. Primary sources were obtained from library research in the form of the novel Sri Sumarah by Umar Kayam (1995) and secondary sources were also used through relevant literature reviews. The approach used to explain characterization in Sri Sumarah's literary works is a structural approach related to intrinsic structure including theme, incident, character, plot, language style, story technique and composition. The extrinsic structure includes historical, sociological, psychological, religious and philosophical aspects. Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that Sri Sumarah is a Javanese woman with a strong and resilient personality in facing various life problems. He is depicted as a figure who places Subadra and Kunti as role models. For almost all his life, Sri Sumarah played a very dominant role over the two puppet characters. The characters in Sri Sumarah succeed in presenting a strong characterization structure as described by the author.
2024-07-14T07:31:29+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 Kulturistik: Jurnal Ilmu Bahasa dan Budayahttps://www.ejournal.warmadewa.ac.id/index.php/kulturistik/article/view/10049WOMEN’S LANGUAGE FEATURES: A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THREE MOVIES WITH DIFFERENT YEAR BACKGROUND2024-07-18T20:45:31+07:00Desak Putu Tisna Erayanitisnaerayani@gmail.comNi Wayan Kasniwayankasni@gmail.comKuntayunikuntayuni@warmadewa.ac.id
This research aimed to find out women’s language features that used by female characters in three movies with different year background such as: On the Basis of Sex (1950), Nine to Five (1980), last Bombshell (2010) and what feature differences are found among the three movies.
