This journal published articles and theoretical article on any aspect of legal linguistics or language and the law science. <p>Legal system in Indonesia based on a civil law system, intermixed with customary law and the Roman Dutch law. Procedures in Indonesia district court, start with the prosecutor was ordered to bring the defendant before the trial in a free state. The research aim is to described the Legal System in Indonesia: Forensic Linguistic Study. This research used descriptive qualitative method. This study used lexical semantics (verbal communication such as sounds,words, language and speech) in visual media as the data. This research method used qualitative by describing the data. The result shows that the access to language assistance for a defendant is very important especially for foreign people who are not able to speak Indonesian because the court session is the most important place for a defendant to defend himself. Furthermore, the defendant will be able to state everything he needs for his defense freely, for this purpose the court provides an interpreter for a defendant. As an interpreter must be neutral and impartial, all matters and conversation in the court during the trial must be kept confidential.</p>Ni Gusti Ayu Widiantari

The aim research is to described the Republic Democratic of Timor Leste (RDTL) constitution of 2002-2005 code of criminal procedure: forensic linguistic analysis. This research used descriptive qualitative method. This study used lexical semantics (verbal communication such as sounds,words, language and speech) in visual media. This research method used qualitative by describing the data. The result shows that Interpreters and translators must be familiar with these contexts, and endeavor to have the people they work with understand their role. For practitioners who work through agencies, the agency providing them with the work is one of their clients, and practitioners maintain the same professional standards when working with them as when working with individual clients. At the same time agencies must have appropriate and fair procedures in place that recognize and foster the professionalism of interpreting and translating practitioners.</p>Jose A’u Abi Siqui

<p>This study analyzes the online abuse received by feminist activists due to their support for <em>Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Nomor 30</em> <em>Tahun 2021 tentang Pencegahan dan Penanganan Kekerasan Seksual (PPKS)</em>. The Activist received online verbal abuse directly from particular accounts on Instagram for their campaign on the controversial term ‘concern.’ The data are based on the Okky Madasari Instagram account case. These abused comments on Instagram violate Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions related to hate speech. This article uses a forensic linguistics perspective to obtain linguistic evidence. <p>The murder case in the novel "And Then Were None" left language evidence, such as an invitation letter for the victim and a confession letter. The Research aimed to discover the ways and the form of crime through a forensic linguistic approach. The type of this Research is qualitative–descriptive. The primary data source used the novel "And Then Were None" by Agatha Christie, while the secondary data sources used articles on forensic linguistics that have been published. Data collection techniques in this Research used reading techniques and note-taking techniques. The different lingual equivalent method was used to analyze the data. Analyzing data on invitation letters shows that utterances contain two perlocutionary speech acts, one illocutionary speech act, and one locutionary speech act. Meanwhile, Research on acknowledgment letters produced five utterances containing assertive speech acts in the "declaring" category and one directive speech act in the "ordering" category. Based on analyzing data, the way of the crime of murder is by inviting the victim to come to an island, while the form of the crime of murder is premeditated murder.</p>Faizatul WidadMoh. Zawawi
